PASADENA, Calif. — Caltech Athletics officially announced the 2024 men's and women's track & field schedule this week.

The two programs will compete at a number of meets from January through May as they look to top their impressive 2023 campaigns, which saw several broken school records from both the women and the men.

The squads will open their season on Saturday, Jam. 27 at the Outdoor Indoor Distances and Field Event (OIDFE) Challenge Meet as hosted by CMS before taking on the Ron Mann Clasic on Friday, Feb. 2 in Flagstaff, Arizona. Throwers Meg Robertson (Nashville, Tenn. / Harpeth Hall) and Daniel Amelinez-Robles (Madison, Wis. / James Madison Memorial) made history at last year's competition as both athletes set new school records in the weight throw.

On Saturday, Mar. 2, the Beavers will host their first and only home meet of the spring as they take on Chapman University, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, Whittier College and the University of Redlands in their first SCIAC Multi-Dual Meet. Last year, Robertson made history at the program's sole home meet as she broke the nine-year school record in the hammer throw with a massive 44.45m throw.

Other important meets in 2024 include the Oxy Distance Carnival on Saturday, Mar. 9 and the SCIAC Multi-Dual Meet on Saturday, Mar. 30 in Claremont.

Several Beavers will also compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Thursday, Apr. 11 through Saturday, Apr. 13 where last year then-sophomore Sophie Dalfonzo (Fair Haven, N.J. / Biotechnology & Rumson-Fair Regional) smashed the school record in the 10,000-meter distance by more than 38 seconds with a time of 36:59.04. In the men's 5,000-meter competition, then-junior Joey Litvin (Ardmore, Pa. / Lower Merion) nabbed his own school record with a scorching time of 14:37.51.

Caltech wraps up regular season conference action on Saturday, Apr. 13 in La Verne before taking on the SCIAC Championships on Saturday, Apr. 27 and Sunday, Apr. 28. Litvin earned his second school record of the season at this meet in 2023, posting a 31:06.83 in the 10,000 meters and collecting a bronze medal in the process.

The Beavers will then send athletes to the Oxy Invitational on Saturday, May 4; last season, Dalfonzo set the school record in the 5,000 meter distance at this meet as she ran a blistering 17:37.11.

Both programs will look to qualify athletes to the NCAA Outdoor Championships, held in Myrtle Beach, S.C. from Thursday, May 23 through Sunday, May 26.
