PASADENA, Calif. — Caltech Athletics officially announced the 2024 Men's Soccer schedule on Friday morning.

This year's group will face off against several nonconference opponents before taking on high-level teams in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). The Beavers will compete in 18 regular season games as they try to top a historic 2023 campaign which saw the team earn its highest-ever win total in 53 years. At the end of the year, two players collected prestigious First Team All-SCIAC and All-Region honors.

Head coach Duncan Gillis and the Beavers will kick off 2024 with a home exhibition match versus Stanton University on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. before officially opening the season at home the following week as they battle the Park University (Ariz.) Buccaneers on Friday, Aug. 30 at 11 a.m.

The team will look to make to make it two straight wins over Life Pacific University as they face off against the Warriors on the road on Wednesday, Sep. 11 at 10 a.m. In their clash last season, the Beavers scored four unanswered goals in the first half before cruising to a 5-1 victory.

Caltech will begin conference play at home on Wednesday, Sep. 18 at 4 pm. as the group hosts the defending SCIAC champion Tigers of Occidental College. Three days later, the Beavers will travel east to take on Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on the road; Caltech earned a thrilling 1-0 victory over the Sagehens in their September meeting last year.

The Beavers will strive to make it five consecutive victories over the University of La Verne as they clash with the Leopards in an away matchup on Saturday, Sep. 28 at 7 p.m. The team posted a 4-2 win over La Verne one year ago.

From there, Caltech will host Whittier College on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 4 p.m.; last year, the Beavers tied the Poets 4-4 in their first meeting before downing them 4-1 later in the season.

Another notable rematch will come on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 11 a.m against Clarmeont-Mudd-Scripps on the road. The Beavers played some of their strongest soccer in their Senior Day battle with the Stags last season, ultimately settling for a 1-1 draw.

Caltech will honor its seniors in a dedicated ceremony prior to the start of their final home game on Saturday, Oct. 26 before taking on La Verne for the second time this season. Action tips off at 11 a.m. The Beavers will then wrap up the regular season on the road as they face Cal Lutheran University on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.
